2010 TRAINING CAMP

After a lengthy hiatus, Dan and Greg finally return with a two-part episode chronicling their thoughts on the Giants and the upcoming season. In this PART 1, Dan and Greg get into the Knicks and LeBron James’ DECISION. The two also briefly recap their sports agent friend Kess’s wedding where they had the privilege of meeting Aaron Ross and Mark Sanchez. Dan and Greg go on to review the Giants’ 2010 draft picks as well as the squad’s defense. STAY TUNED FOR THE RELEASE OF PART 2!

THE OFFSEASON

For The NYGMen Podcast’s 25th EPISODE ANNIVERSARY, Dan and Greg welcome childhood friend and real-deal sports agent ANDREW KESSLER to discuss some of his clients (i.e. BRANDON JACOBS and AARON ROSS) as well as to analyze the Giants in general. Kessler also offers some knowledge relating to player tenders and the collective bargaining agreement and all three share their opinions/predictions concerning Donovan McNabb and the NFC East. Plus, as always, there are conversational digressions galore! And keep an eye out for an incisive, albeit belated, post-draft episode, which Dan and Greg promise to record.

Unfortunately, the dude is sticking around (just in a different uniform).

THE OFFSEASON

On this episode of the podcast, Dan welcomes back childhood friend (and American ex-pat in Paris) FOX, who shares some stories about his time in Vancouver while working in television for the Winter Olympics. Among other things, the two also discuss the rise of the Jets and even briefly touch on hipsters versus bohemians. Greg, who is in the midst of writing a book, makes it on for the second half of the program. As to be expected, the pair have a lengthy discussion about the Giants, including the squad’s acquisition of ANTREL ROLLE. Of course, as always, Greg and Dan cannot help but digress, which makes it very difficult to enumerate everything that comes up in conversation. Let’s just leave it at Reggie Miller versus the Knicks, LeBron, Thundercats, and the word “retarded”.

ALSO: Congratulations to one of The NYGMen Podcast’s favorite, most thoughtful, and incredibly loyal fans, Jason Velazquez of Tampa Bay, Florida! On March 16th, Jason welcomed his brand new son, Jason Dominic, to the team!!! We’ll give a proper shout out next episode!

Let's Rock 'n' ROLLE!!!

THE OFFSEASON

ATTENTION: NON-GIANTS’ FANS (and even girls) ARE WELCOME . . . .

It’s the offseason and The NYGMen Podcast is finally back!!! To reassure those who are not necessarily Giants’ fans, Greg and Dan think that they can hold your attention too. Of course, there is some G-Men talk somewhere in the middle of this first episode of The NYGMen Podcast: The Offseason, but Greg and Dan address many other topics that should have more universal appeal such as the recently concluded 2010 Winter Olympics, Saved By the Bell, and their ongoing social commentary relating to television commercials and what exactly they may say about us as a society. As always, Greg and Dan address comments (but this time Russian-authored SPAM comments) and the two give out awards. Give us a chance because we’re good. We promise!

Super Bowl XLIV PREVIEW

In this SUPER BOWL XLIV PREVIEW, Dan and Greg briefly discuss their plans for the game and, ultimately, call who they like and why. Ironically, the two spend more time discussing the G-MEN, such as TIKI BARBER’s appearance on Mike Francesa’s “Mike’d Up”, MICHAEL STRAHAN being the sole Giant named to the NFL All-Decade Team, JEREMY SHOCKEY’s claims of harboring no ill will towards his former team, the hiring of new defensive line coach Robert Nunn, and a PLAXICO update. ALSO, is Tony Dungy overrated? Is Rex Ryan an idiot? And whatever happened to J.D. Roth??? As always, Dan and Greg address fan comments and hand out awards. All of this and a lot more on this week’s episode. ENJOY THE SUPER BOWL EVERYBODY!!!

P.S. This podcast is NOT as long as the file is. The length of the file is a technical error. Our apologies.

NFC/AFC Championship Weekend REVIEW

In this NFC/AFC CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND REVIEW, unfortunately released a week late, Dan and Greg discuss some of the then noteworthy sports headlines such as PAUL SHIRLEY’s insensitive remarks relating to Haiti, TIM TEBOW’s controversial Super Bowl ad to be aired by CBS, and GREG ODEN’s embarrassing (or impressive?) photos on the internet. Of course, the two also get into the Indianapolis Colts decisive defeat of the cinderella New York Jets. To discuss the Minnesota Vikings’ debacle against the New Orleans Saints, Dan and Greg have the NYGMen Podcast’s resident Vikings’ fan/expert J-LA, commiserating with him over what was, objectively speaking, an awful loss. The three even touch on steroids and concussions. And FINALLY, after managing to skirt the issue for some time, Dan and Greg get into the G-Men for a little bit.

Finally!!!

Finally!!!

NFC/AFC Championship PREVIEW / Divisional Playoffs REVIEW

In this NFC/AFC CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND PREVIEW and DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS WEEKEND REVIEW, Dan and Greg welcome childhood friend and Jets’ fan PETER to discuss the Jets’ gutsy win against the San Diego Chargers. The three also discuss the virtuosity of DARRELLE REVIS, the suprising and timely adequacy of THE SANCHISE, the choke-job by Chargers’ kicker NATE KAEDING, and the questionable coaching decisions made by Chargers’ coach NORV TURNER. Of course, leave it to Peter to overstate the potential of SHONN GREENE. Also, Dan and Greg proudly welcome their first international guest, Vancouver native BC MIKE to discuss the NHL’s scandalous Alex Burrows/Stephane Auger affair, the CFL, the upcoming Winter Olympics, and to follow up on the hidden, seedy underbelly of BC Mike’s hometown. And, as always, Dan and Greg call this weekend’s games as well as offering a brief G-Men update and handing out listener awards. This is truly a jam-packed 20th episode!

Seriously?!?

Divisional Playoffs PREVIEW / Wild Card REVIEW

In this DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS WEEKEND PREVIEW and WILD CARD WEEKEND REVIEW, Dan and Greg welcome childhood friend and Jets’ fan ‘STER to discuss the Jets’ decisive win against the Bengals in Cincinnati. The three also talk some Pete Carroll; how Tom Hammond, Joe Theismann, and Joe Gibbs are awful commentators; filandering baseball players; and much, much more. Of course, Dan, Greg, and ‘Ster discuss this weekend’s Jets/Chargers game and they each call a winner for all four Divisional Playoff games. And, as usual, Dan and Greg address fan email and comments in addition to giving out awards. GET PSYCHED, as we have another great weekend of exciting playoff football. ENJOY!

The 2009-2010 NFL Playoffs: No G-Men, but away we go!!!

In this WILDCARD WEEKEND PREVIEW (and somewhat of a Week 17 review), Dan and Greg welcome back The NYGMen Podcast’s resident Dallas Cowboys expert REID to reflect on Texas’s loss in the BCS and on the Cowboys upcoming rematch against the Eagles in Dallas. So much is addressed in this episode that it is virtually fruitless to start enumerating. At the very least, it’s easy to say that the 2009 NFL playoffs and the New York Giants’ personnel moves come up in conversation quite a bit. Hold on tight because, even without the G-Men, this weekend should make for some really exciting football!

Who's gonna take it this year? Right now, it's really hard to tell.

The New York Jets: Unfortunately the better 2009 New York football team

In the first episode of The NYGMen Podcast post-2009 NFL regular season, Dan and Greg decide to take a break from talk about the Giants and, instead, have one of their old (and one of Dan’s best) friends on the program straight from his apartment in Paris: Jets’ enthusiast and degenerate gambler FOX. Dan congratulates Fox on miraculously winning their bet since the Jets unbelievably finished the regular season with a better record than the Giants did (except not really all that shocking for those who have been intently watching the G-Men for the past two months). The trio discuss a broad range of topics that include the Jets, Eric Mangini, Bill Belichick and his disciples, the untimely and tragic death of Casey Johnson, the upcoming Winter Olympics, Tiger Woods, Jayson Williams, and much, much more. The Jets are going and we’re staying home, but CHEER UP because at the very least BILL SHERIDAN is GONE!!

We know that their defense is good, but what about THIS guy?
