NFC/AFC Championship PREVIEW / Divisional Playoffs REVIEW

In this NFC/AFC CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND PREVIEW and DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS WEEKEND REVIEW, Dan and Greg welcome childhood friend and Jets’ fan PETER to discuss the Jets’ gutsy win against the San Diego Chargers. The three also discuss the virtuosity of DARRELLE REVIS, the suprising and timely adequacy of THE SANCHISE, the choke-job by Chargers’ kicker NATE KAEDING, and the questionable coaching decisions made by Chargers’ coach NORV TURNER. Of course, leave it to Peter to overstate the potential of SHONN GREENE. Also, Dan and Greg proudly welcome their first international guest, Vancouver native BC MIKE to discuss the NHL’s scandalous Alex Burrows/Stephane Auger affair, the CFL, the upcoming Winter Olympics, and to follow up on the hidden, seedy underbelly of BC Mike’s hometown. And, as always, Dan and Greg call this weekend’s games as well as offering a brief G-Men update and handing out listener awards. This is truly a jam-packed 20th episode!

Divisional Playoffs PREVIEW / Wild Card REVIEW

In this DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS WEEKEND PREVIEW and WILD CARD WEEKEND REVIEW, Dan and Greg welcome childhood friend and Jets’ fan ‘STER to discuss the Jets’ decisive win against the Bengals in Cincinnati. The three also talk some Pete Carroll; how Tom Hammond, Joe Theismann, and Joe Gibbs are awful commentators; filandering baseball players; and much, much more. Of course, Dan, Greg, and ‘Ster discuss this weekend’s Jets/Chargers game and they each call a winner for all four Divisional Playoff games. And, as usual, Dan and Greg address fan email and comments in addition to giving out awards. GET PSYCHED, as we have another great weekend of exciting playoff football. ENJOY!

The 2009-2010 NFL Playoffs: No G-Men, but away we go!!!

In this WILDCARD WEEKEND PREVIEW (and somewhat of a Week 17 review), Dan and Greg welcome back The NYGMen Podcast’s resident Dallas Cowboys expert REID to reflect on Texas’s loss in the BCS and on the Cowboys upcoming rematch against the Eagles in Dallas. So much is addressed in this episode that it is virtually fruitless to start enumerating. At the very least, it’s easy to say that the 2009 NFL playoffs and the New York Giants’ personnel moves come up in conversation quite a bit. Hold on tight because, even without the G-Men, this weekend should make for some really exciting football!

Who's gonna take it this year? Right now, it's really hard to tell.

The New York Jets: Unfortunately the better 2009 New York football team

In the first episode of The NYGMen Podcast post-2009 NFL regular season, Dan and Greg decide to take a break from talk about the Giants and, instead, have one of their old (and one of Dan’s best) friends on the program straight from his apartment in Paris: Jets’ enthusiast and degenerate gambler FOX. Dan congratulates Fox on miraculously winning their bet since the Jets unbelievably finished the regular season with a better record than the Giants did (except not really all that shocking for those who have been intently watching the G-Men for the past two months). The trio discuss a broad range of topics that include the Jets, Eric Mangini, Bill Belichick and his disciples, the untimely and tragic death of Casey Johnson, the upcoming Winter Olympics, Tiger Woods, Jayson Williams, and much, much more. The Jets are going and we’re staying home, but CHEER UP because at the very least BILL SHERIDAN is GONE!!

We know that their defense is good, but what about THIS guy?

Week 17 PREVIEW: The New York Giants visit the Minnesota Vikings

In this Week 17 PREVIEW, the New York Giants travel to Minnesota to face off with the Vikings in a pretty pointless match-up (well, at least for the G-Men). Greg and Dan are honored to welcome childhood friend and fervent Vikings’ fanatic J-LA, who happens to be chillin’ in Argentina. The three spend some time talking about Argentina, Danish women, how J-La became a Vikings’ fan, and reminisce about high school. ALSO, we talk Brett Favre (also addressing the Favre/Childress affair), Percy Harvin, Adrian Peterson, Tarvaris Jackson, Chris Johnson, Visanthe Shiancoe, and JEREMY SHOCKEY. We even bring up good ole’ John Fox. We know that we’re done, BUT STAY WITH US!!

WARNING: Some may find this episode to be particularly off-color

Wouldn't it be nice to make things harder for ego-maniac Brett Favre?

Week 16: The New York Giants knocked out by the Carolina Panthers, 41-9

In this Week 16 POST-GAME ANALYSIS, Greg and Dan are pissed and saddened by the Giants’ lackluster effort and embarrassing loss against the Carolina Panthers. In addition to talking about the game itself, the two focus on the ascension of Eli Manning as a truly legit NFL QB, the fall of Brandon Jacobs, the selection of Shaun O’Hara to the Pro Bowl, and the complaining of Osi Umenyiora. Greg and Dan also discuss Bill Sheridan, what the G-Men might care to strengthen through the upcoming draft, the state of the linebackers, the future of the running, and the condition of the secondary. ALSO, Greg and Dan argue for way too long about statistics and odds as well as addressing the trash-talking of CAROLINA’S STEVE SMITH, the Colts allowing the Jets to win, RAMSES BARDEN and, of course, Mike Francesa. As always, Greg and Dan respond to fan email and comments, give out awards, and call their top teams, including Week 16’s “Beast of the East.” And DON’T MISS Greg and Dan’s call for the Gauthier “Mic ‘em up” Consideration. BE REASONABLE!! We will survive this GIANT letdown.

Domenik Hixon and the New York Giants were buried by the suddenly dangerous Panthers.
