hey guys, heard the preview podcast- good shit. don’t mind u guys going off on tangents. its fun to hear some of those stories. it was a real treat to hear u guys discuss my question on the podcast last week. i still say u could put some of those young raw guys in favorable situations like using barden in the red zone and just letting him run fade routes. how hard is that? also why not use one of those 2nd rounders and trade for tony gonzalez- who went to atlanta for a 2. but whatever no big deal.
i wanted to pose another question to u guys for a possible discussion. knowing what we know now, would u guys go back and undo the eli manning trade? the caveat being u would have to give back the super bowl as well as we wouldn’t know how things would play out. for the purpose of this discussion we’ll leave big ben out of this draft scenario since the giants technically did draft rivers. would u give back “the catch” and “18-1″ for the chance of maybe still winning one anyway? would rivers’ demeanor keep shockey in check and allow him to play his style while still being on the giants? would the giants have been in position to draft shawn merriman the following year and take him with that pick?
espn had a discussion on their podcast in the offseason about who got the better of the trade. short answer- well we know who has a lombardi trophy since then.
i hope u guys can use this for some fodder on the podcast soon. i’m always hearing guys say how rivers is a much better qb than eli. and while i start to wonder if i can convince myself otherwise i always come back to 2007. what do u guys think?
